Cambridge colleges + online interviews

I’m applying to Cambridge for natural sciences, initially my first choice college was Emmanuel, but my family is going abroad on the 14th December and now i don’t know what to do, since emma hold all of their interviews in person.
Interviews are said to be the first 3 weeks of December, and I’m definitely in England for the first two but not the third. Obviously if I get the interview, I will just not go and will stay home, but in that case we lose our money for my tickets.
Are the chances of actually getting a date in any of the three weeks equal, or are most interviews carried out at the beginning?
Some colleges do a mix of online and in person interviews - would they let you switch to online if you’re assigned in person (which I would be since I live in England)?
To what extent should I base my college decision off of the interview format?

You can put on the additional MyCam application days that you are not available and they will try to accommodate. Maybe send admissions an email just to enquire

It's often done by subject so they would try and do all of the Natural Sciences interviews in a block. Whilst they do allow some flexibility, holidays are rarely included (and sometimes are specifically excluded). If this happens, you will have to forgo that period of your holiday or your Cambridge hopes.

One thing that is to note is that Cambridge is easily accessible from Stansted Airport. If you'd be in Europe and happy to only miss a few days, you could always fly to Cambridge and back. It may cost some money but is an option if you don't want to waste all of the money you've put in.

"You must keep the interview period free. We cannot reschedule interviews, unless under exceptional circumstances. This may include unavoidable commitments such as hospital appointments or illness, religious observance or exams. If you do not attend your interview, you will not be considered for a place at Cambridge."
