Economics vs Chemistry (A-Level Subject Combination)

If i want to do economics at a top UK university, will i be at a disadvantage if i am taking maths, further maths, physics and chemistry compared to some other applicant doing economics instead?

I don't think so as economics as quite related to maths so I think it's no problem.(just like CS you could choose to not take CS a level and do a CS degree course)

Thanks. Will there be anything i need to do outside of school related to economics to have a better chance of getting an offer?

Your personal statement should include your interests and especially stuff that relates to your course. I think they mostly cared about your acedemic achievements and you are interested in the course you apply

Surprisingly, A level Economics is rarely a requirement for an Economics degree - and unless the Uni actually states on the course page that they do require or 'prefer' A level Economics then they will not favour those who have taken it. If it isnt clear from the stated 'entry requirements', then just email the Uni and ask - they won't mind.

Extra reading etc that shows you are reading / studying beyond just the A level syllabus - Economics Reading & Viewing Suggestions | Department of Economics (Oxford but good for all top Unis) and Undergraduate reading list - The University of Nottingham (ditto).

There are also relevant Moocs - free short online courses from leading Unis - examples :
Coursera | Online Courses From Top Universities. Join for Free
