Consequences of failing the re sit at Glasgow Caledonian University

Hello everyone
My all modules are pass except one which is Legal skills credit score 15 and a compulsory subject. I am not sure what the Assessment Board will decide. What are the next options, if any, to complete the program? Can the Assessment board give any relaxation? Can I still get the PSW? Note: My Postgraduate Research module is pass. Please tell all about the scenario.

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having a stressful time at the mo.

These are exactly the kinds of questions that your academic supervisor/personal tutor at uni can support you with. If you do end up failing a compulsory module then many unis will be able to let you resit the parts you failed. This is not guaranteed but if you check your uni's policy on resits it should all be in there.

I would advise to book a meeting in with your academic supervisor or personal tutor (possibly your lecturer for the said module) and tell them about your concerns and hopefully they'll point you in the right direction and take you through your options.

Hope this helps and best of luck - try not to worry 🙂

Hi. Thanks for your kind reply
I got 40 marks. Module handbook says that 40-49 is a marginal fail. Then the decision is with progression and Award Board that wether they consider it for compensation or not. Compensation means they have an authority to give up to 20 credit hours. But I am not sure wether this compensation applies to the second attempt or only the 1st. I have emailed the module leader but no reply yet.

A resit fail without mitigating circumstances is a hard fail without exception
