Pharmacy advice
Hello, I'm going to start my foundation year of pharmacy and I was wondering what should I buy to prepare for it. I already have a semi-decent laptop so I was thinking of getting an ipad, is this worth it or should I get a better laptop? Does anyone have any revision recommendations such as books, websites and stuff like that? Any general tips/info for my first year? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Congratulations on starting your foundation year! If you already have a decent laptop, an iPad can still be useful for taking notes, annotating lectures, and portability.
Useful resources:
• British National Formulary (BNF) – handy for drugs and prescribing information
• National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) – helpful for clinical guidelines
• Medicines, Ethics and Practice – an introduction to pharmacy law
• Introduction to Pharmaceutical Calculations – for practicing calculations
• Aultons Pharmaceutics – helpful for tablet manufacturing and formulation topics
Some of these may be available through your university’s online library or the Royal Pharmaceutical Society website. Don’t worry about using everything straight away, you can gradually explore these resources as you progress through your degree.
Starting university can feel overwhelming, but staying organised, taking care of yourself, and asking for help when you need it will make a big difference.
