16 Year old jobs
Hey, so I'm currently in year 10 however I was just wondering what jobs you can get at 16 and what the average pay is.

Most retail shops advertise jobs but it’s very hard to get one. Not impossible but highly competitive. The average pay is around £10 hour. A lot of places don’t like to hire under 18 because it’s a lot more paperwork and you have to have longer breaks.

From 16 you can get a job at must shops, supermarkets, fast food places, restaurants, cafes, cinemas, garden centres, leisure centres, local attractions, touristy type places etc.

A lot of places do hire under 18's. Yes there are extra rules that apply to 16/17 year olds, but a lot of places do take them on.
