MSc Psychology (Conversion)

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone can advise me on Student Finance eligibility.

I already hold a master’s degree (completed in EU, a few years ago). I’ve now received an unconditional offer to study an MSc Psychology (Conversion) (2 years, part-time). The university confirmed the course is a BPS-accredited conversion course.

I understand SFE normally doesn’t fund a second master’s, but I’ve read that there are exceptions if the new course is a “conversion course” in psychology. Has anyone here successfully applied for a Postgraduate Master’s Loan in this situation?

I want to be sure before I submit my application that SFE will recognise this as an exception, since my first master’s was in a completely different field.

Any advice or personal experience would be really appreciated!

Thanks in advance 🙏

Hi Amy,

Can you please tell us what university is offering this course, and when it begins?

Thanks, Graeme
