Hey everyone!

How are you all feeling? Is anyone applying for any courses with an early deadline (October 15th)? It’s a week to go, so just wanted to check in and see how you're feeling 😄

If you need some help with your personal statement, we have a whole forum dedicated to your questions (just don't post any part of your statement!), and some example statements in our PS library.

What are your main questions?

If you're not applying early, have you started looking around at booking any open days yet? If so, how are they going? Have you visited Imperial yet?

Good luck everyone :woo:

1) maths fm physics graphics + epq
2) I’ve applied for design engineering - I want to be able to channel creative design ideas through a STEM mindset, and want to get into human centred product development
3) GCSEs: 99998887766
Predicted A-Levels: A*A*A*A*A*
4) my favourite of the courses I’ve applied to, used to live in the areas so there’s a nostalgic factor, and its prestige is perfect for employment
5) I went to the recent open day as an excuse to go out with my friends, went to the DesEng summer school So the open day wasn’t necessary
6) excited
7) have applied to Cambridge, Bristol (offer), Nottingham (offer) and Loughborough

1) chem, physics, maths and further maths
2)chemistry Msci
3) 677A8888899 and achieved A*A*A*A* both with extenuating circumstances mentioned in references
4) its in london so i’ll meet a lot of new people with lots of new experiences too, also the research facilities are top notch
5) attended the one in summer
6) excited???
7) oxford (MChem) and i received offers from UCL last application round so them too

1) international student but maths, physics, chemistry and further maths equivalent

2) design engineering because it’s literally all my passions combined into one course (entrepreneurship, design, robotics, maths/physics c human centred) and mechanical engineering because I really enjoy mechanical type engineering and problem solving.

3) I am an international student so I guess my predicted grades are equivalent to A*A*A*A* but I’m not sure. For my Esat I don’t expect a precise grade but I would say that I answered without guessing for 16/27 in maths 1 😐, 14/27 in physics 😔 and 26/27 for maths 2 🤩.

4) Because if I go to UK it’s only for the top universities and I really like the students environnement/ groups there, it feels like “home” kinda weird but everyone is soo smart and it’s really cool.

5)I did the Imperial GSS so I guess it’s enough.

6) Excited, not expecting any offers but at least I tried my best.

7) Cambridge, UCL and Bristol

Taking A-level biology, chemistry, physics and Spanish
GCSE’s: 99999998776 predicted A*A*A*A*
I am applying for MBiol in biological science, I like that there is a focus on molecular biology as well as the obvious opportunities in London. The chance to take humanities modules such as languages and writing interests me as I want to be a science author one day
Also applied to Oxford, St Andrews, Durham, York (offer of AAB)

I’m not a really competitive application haha. I am a French student so I’m really late compared to A level student I had to almost cover up everything for the Esat: we didn’t even started integrals at school.

Yet your predicteds are that high and esat average probably higher than mine too 😭 I’m thinking like 22/27 in maths 1 and 14/27 in maths 2, it didn’t go so great

Guys, this is the course I am applying to... I am cooked.

Reply 17

Hi everyone!

I am studying A level Maths, Physics, DT and EPQ. I also have qualifications in lambda and singing (very irrelevant to my course though unfortunately). My predicted grades are A*A*A*A* (50/50 in EPQ), and my GCSE grades are 9999999888.

My dream course is the Imperial Design Engineering MEng! I just think it combines all of my favourite subjects and there is a real focus on human- centred design. I really think it is unique to other courses that I have applied to, and I would really like to study there (South Kensington is also sooo nice). I have attended a few open days already and It truly is such a nice place to live and study.

I applied in mid September for Design Engineering at: Bath, Bristol, Imperial and Product Design Engineering at: Loughborough (offer), Liverpool (offer).

The ESAT truly cooked me, and I am really not hopeful after seeing someone on here with like 5 A* (Yu7kii). Who knows though until the 14th. Best of luck to all!

What does everyone reckon they got on ESAT (or what did you supposedly get if you inspected the page last Friday)?
