I am applying for LSE for Politics Bsc and also Cambridge for HSPS. I am pretty set on Cambridge as I have been to the open days as well as other school trips. I happen to have completed a couple essay competitions for Cambridge too. That being said, I still really like the look of LSE, its location and also I like the idea of living in London as someone who wants to move away for uni (I am from the North East). However, I worry that because my Personal Statement is so Cambridge geared that it is putting my application to LSE at jeopardy as they might think I am not suited for their course. It's worth mentioning that the HSPS course covers sociology, anthropology and politics whereas I am only wanting to apply for straight Politics at LSE. Does anyone have any advice as to whether I should send in separate applications personalised to that specific uni or should I leave it as is?
I know both Cambridge and LSE are really competitive. I would really appreciate some advice on how to deal with that stress as well (looking at the acceptance stats page is currently my number one enemy). Because Politics A level is not offered at my school and I didn't take History, I feel like my application might also be hindered in that way even though no unis require a certain subject qualification for politics as it is outside the convention. I feel a little disadvantaged in my factual knowledge of politics in that regard and my lack of experience studying politics.
Open to hear any advice for applying for politics as a whole as well!! Tysm for reading💓

hi! i'm applying for HSPS at cambridge too and international social and public policy with politics at LSE. honestly your factual knowledge of politics is probably better than most politics students if you take an interest in it (which you obviously do) since your knowledge is guided by passion and not an exam specification. good luck!
Hey everyone!

How are you all feeling? Is anyone applying for any courses with an early deadline (October 15th)? It’s a week to go, so just wanted to check in and see how you're feeling 😄

If you need some help with your personal statement, we have a whole forum dedicated to your questions (just don't post any part of your statement!), and some example statements in our PS library.

What are your main questions?

If you're not applying early, have you started looking around at booking any open days yet? If so, how are they going? Have you visited LSE yet?

Good luck everyone :woo:

I applied to LSE for BSc Econ and Oxford for E&M a few days ago and LSE just emailed me asking which admissions tests I’ll be taking. Why do they care if I’m doing the TSA? They won’t ask for my score will they?

I said I am doing the TSA and the TMUA, I did not want to cause any problems by not giving the full information
