Hi,
1) I'm doing Spanish, Physics, French and Maths at A-level
2) I'm looking to study Aeronautics and Astronautics/Spacecraft Engineering but I'm also applying to Aeronautics and Astronautics/Aerodynamics
3) I'm predicted A, A, A, B, and got grades 9-7 at GCSE
4) idk really, it was rated highly for the course and industry connections, and I just really liked the vibe!
5) I won't be attending any open days, but I've had a look at the uni already, and it's definitely my 1st choice

There is no point in applying to 2 courses at Southampton if that is what you mean as those two courses will be identical in year 1 and 2 and then you can choose your specialisation or change it.
Hey everyone!

How are you all feeling? Is anyone applying for any courses with an early deadline (October 15th)? It’s a week to go, so just wanted to check in and see how you're feeling 😄

If you need some help with your personal statement, we have a whole forum dedicated to your questions (just don't post any part of your statement!), and some example statements in our PS library.

What are your main questions?

If you're not applying early, have you started looking around at booking any open days yet? If so, how are they going? Have you visited Southampton yet?

Good luck everyone :woo:

Hi @Anonymous,

Congratulations on your offer!! 🥳 Timings wise, it depends on the application, but the admissions team work very hard so I would celebrate. This is brilliant news and hopefully we'll see you in September next year!

I applied for aero and astro / aerodynamics, but I didnt apply for the industry year by accident, I still really want to do that, is there a possibility I can speak to Southampton and add that to my course?

I think you cak get it added once you're studying there îf not, in the same way uou can go from a Bachelor's to a Master's if you talk to the academics.

Hi @Dev_l0rd^24,

It's wonderful to hear that you're interesteed in coming to Southampton. Adding a year in industry is quite easy to do after you join the university. to have it embedded into your degree, you would just need to speak to your personal tutor in the first few months and they will guide you through the steps you would need to take. Alternatively, you can seek to do an indusry placement year privately, which any student can do no matter their course (build in industry years often have support available from your school/faculty as well as through the central careers team). Additionally, everyone has access to support from the university's careers team during their time at university.

I wish you the best for your application

Hi @Anonymous #4

Well done on submitting your application! We’re currently receiving a high volume of applications, but since you submitted through UCAS, there’s no reason to worry we will have received it.

Please check your spam or junk folder in case our acknowledgment email ended up there. I’d suggest waiting a couple more days, and if you still haven’t heard anything, feel free to email [email protected] they’ll be happy to help.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

Best wishes,
Nusaba (Student Ambassador)
