Hey everyone!

How are you all feeling? Is anyone applying for any courses with an early deadline (October 15th)? It’s a week to go, so just wanted to check in and see how you're feeling 😄

If you need some help with your personal statement, we have a whole forum dedicated to your questions (just don't post any part of your statement!), and some example statements in our PS library.

What are your main questions?

If you're not applying early, have you started looking around at booking any open days yet? If so, how are they going? Have you visited UWE Bristol yet?

Good luck everyone :woo:
Hey all!

I'm Cara, a 2nd year Marketing student at UWE.

It's an exciting (yet slightly nerve-racking) time, so if anyone has any questions about UWE, university life, life in Bristol, or literally anything related to university, I'm happy to help answer or signpost you to where you can find the answer.

Also, if you haven't already, here's the link to sign up to our next open day, https://www.uwe.ac.uk/courses/open-days/undergraduate-open-events. The next one is on the 22nd November, but there is also an online one on the 3rd December. It's a great chance to learn about the university, the city, and the ins and outs of your course.

Hope to see you there!

From, Cara (2nd year Marketing student) 🤩

Hey! I’m looking at UWE Bristol for Sept 2026. I’m doing Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chem (IAL) and predicted AAAB. I just wanted to check if I apply by mid-December 2025, would I still have a fair shot at getting a scholarship, or are they usually already competitive and filled by then?
Also, me + 3 friends are planning to apply for the same course. Would we be able to request accommodation together in the same flat if we all accept UWE as firm and meet conditions?
Thanks!

Hey! That’s awesome you’re looking at UWE for 2026💫

Scholarships: You’re still good to apply in mid-December. UWE scholarships aren’t first-come-first-served. They open and close on set dates, and it’s mainly about meeting the criteria and submitting a solid application. If you want to see which ones you might be eligible for and the exact deadlines, you can check them out here: https://www.uwe.ac.uk/courses/funding/scholarships-and-bursaries.
Accommodation: Yep, you and your friends can request to live together! When you apply for accommodation, there’s a section where you can put the student IDs of the people you want to share a flat with. It definitely helps your chances, but it’s not guaranteed. It just means the accommodation team will try to place you together as long as you all:

firm UWE on UCAS,

apply for accommodation on time, and

pick the same accommodation choices.

If you’ve got any more questions, feel free to shout. Happy to help!

Oh By the way, do you think managing university work and part time work is hard for an international student? does it mess with your grades?

Hey there,

It depends on how many hours you work and your course. I would say first year's work load is very light and you would be able to manage it easily. It is just second and third year which the workload is heavier. But as long as you manage your time effectively, it should not be a problem.
