My son is applying for sport science and sport management (2 possible degrees). He's doing the IB, including sport science and business. We have family in Brighton so it would be ideal. Loved the Falmer campus sports facilities. I studied in Brighton for a year myself and loved it.
Hey everyone!

How are you all feeling? Is anyone applying for any courses with an early deadline (October 15th)? It’s a week to go, so just wanted to check in and see how you're feeling 😄

If you need some help with your personal statement, we have a whole forum dedicated to your questions (just don't post any part of your statement!), and some example statements in our PS library.

What are your main questions?

If you're not applying early, have you started looking around at booking any open days yet? If so, how are they going? Have you visited Brighton yet?

Good luck everyone :woo:

Hi @ThirdCultureMum

That's great to hear that your son is interested in Brighton (and lovely to hear how much you loved studying here as well)!
Have you thought about attending our Falmer Campus Open Day if possible? That way he can get a better understanding of the courses. If not, no worries I'm happy to try and answer any questions you or your son have.

Let me know if you need any help!

Thanks but we actually live abroad! We attended a tour last summer and it was great.
Do you have information about playing sports at Brighton uni, especially basketball and volleyball?

Hi @ThirdCultureMum
I'm happy to hear that you thought the tour was great!

We have both Basketball and Volleyball clubs at Brighton! I'm attaching their instagrams for you and your son to have a look at as these have the most information. Feel free to dm the teams on there as well, they are more than happy to answer any questions.
Volleyball
Mens Basketball
Both of these sports have a play and club option. The play team is casual and open to anyone, the club team will require tryouts as they compete in competitions. Tryouts take place in the first month of uni.
For more information about what sports teams we offer check out the Sport Brighton website

I hope this helps! Let em know if you have any more questions.
