Should I drop a subject?

I'm in Y13 studying maths, further maths, chemistry and physics. I want to go into chemical engineering for uni (UCL & Imperial are some of my choices) but my predicted grades aren't very high. So I am considering dropping physics to help manage my time but it also is hard to decide since I've already studied it for a year.

Some unis also put physics as a preferred subject so this makes me even more unsure whether this is a good decision.
Chemical engineering has a lot of physics in it so, that's something to consider. That said most chemical engineering courses don't require physics AND chemistry - usually they require maths and EITHER physics OR chemistry, or they require maths and chemistry.

I want to study Vet Med and have dropped maths for this very reason. I have however researched all the unis that offer vet med to insure maths isn’t needed. My chemistry is my weakest and am currently working at a B grade so had to sacrifice maths to spend more time on chemistry. Just make sure you do your research thoroughly first!
Btw 2 of my uncles went to Imperial to do mechanical engineering!

Thank you! I really like chemistry that’s why I wanted to keep chemistry more than physics. I do further maths and maths which I hope is enough.

I also want to spend more time on chemistry as I’m not doing well in it, and like chemistry too much to drop it.
Thank you! I will do some more research first. (Both your uncles are amazing!!)

Well one thing to consider if you enjoy chemistry mainly - there is not actually a lot of chemistry in chemical engineering. It's more like...70% maths, 20-25% physics, and 5-10% chemistry. If your main interest is in chemistry you might find it less appealing anyway.

It's not a degree in applied chemistry, it's a course in chemical engineering. If your principal interest is chemistry then really the only degree to contain substantial amounts of chemistry is a chemistry degree!

So just something to consider
