hi, i just started year 12 and i am doing the subjects psychology, economics and geography. i'd like to get all above A's in my exams. could someone please share the best ways to write notes/ revise and study for these subjects. advice on the websites, resources or methods people have used that have worked well would be really helpful or just any advice in general.

Hi, I did AQA Psychology and I got an A. The best thing that worked for me was just using a whiteboard and pen and going over every single 16 marker writing out the AO1 and AO3 and I would rewrite it x3. I also used the wheel of names feature on google and I'd add all the possible 16 markers from one topic and spin, just to take away the repetitiveness of going through an ordered list. It sounds like a lot of work but I did this in the lead up to exams and it absolutely saved me. If you start now doing maybe 2 a week and build it up you will be sorted because at the end of the day the exam is a memory test except for AO2. If you do this you will cover every single topic in great detail and you will have the knowledge you need to adapt it to the question. Hope this helps and good luck!!

Hi @AN2009, I remember using Seneca learning a lot for geography and my Spanish level so here's a link to that: https://senecalearning.com/en-GB/

Doing mock papers really helped for geography and reviewing my past papers. I would also make a bunch of flashcards per case study to look at before going into exams as referencing statistics was a big part of getting a good grade. I think this will be pretty similar with case studies in psychology.

My main advice is to speak to your teacher at the start of the year privately either after class or organise a meeting through email. Discuss with them what you are aiming for and how to achieve this, if you have already sat a few exams at the college, reviewing your work and past papers with them is really useful.

Hope this helps!

Hey @AN2009,

I found the free resources on Tutor2U really useful for A-Level Economics revision. They have revision videos on most topics on the AQA specification (which were still relevant to me who studied the qualification under CCEA), and have lots of short quizzes/exam technique advice.

In terms of revision - you've probably heard it a hundred times already, but past papers are a fantastic revision tool! Try to time your past papers to get a more authentic exam experience and make sure to carefully read the mark schemes and examiners' reports from previous years.

Hope this helps and best of luck,
Eve (Kingston Rep).
