Looking into MSc Nursing (Adult) at GCU – funding eligibility with prior degrees

Hi there,

I’m thinking about applying for the MSc Nursing (Adult) pre-registration programme at Glasgow Caledonian University, starting in January 2027. By then, I’ll have finished a BA (Hons) and an MSc in Psychological Studies (BPS-accredited). Neither of these are in nursing, midwifery, or an allied health profession, and I live in Scotland full-time.

From what I’ve read, the Paramedic, Nursing and Midwifery Student Bursary (PNMSB) can still be available for students on eligible pre-registration programmes, even if they already hold other degrees, as long as those degrees aren’t in nursing, midwifery, or an allied health subject.

Could you confirm whether my BA (Hons) and MSc in Psychological Studies would have any impact on my eligibility for:

- Tuition fee support, and
- The PNMSB for living costs

If I start the MSc Nursing (Adult) pre-registration at GCU in January 2027? Trying to get a hold of SAAS is a nightmare!

Thanks,

D
