:wavey: Im in year 13 and do OCR A
My favourite topics so far have been evolution, ecology and biodiversity
I find the biochem and some human anatomy content harder because im not so interested in it

I find evolution a great topic, interesting and easy to understand. biochem isn’t my favourite either.

I'm a year 12 student doing AQA, I'm literally panicking and it's only unit 1 and 2 (cells and molecules for life.)

Microscopes are definitely the best non-fieldwork practical!

I’m in year 12 and do eduqas (honestly idk why we do this weird welsh exam board and I believe there’s not a lot of resources, but oh well)
At gcse, I find health and diseases the most interesting but don’t really like ecology. Evolution is mid. Genetics is challenging at first but once you get it it’s not that bad.

Oh wow we do have opposite interests, which is interesting bc most of my friends don’t like those topics either.

Hey, it’s ok to feel a little overwhelmed with A Level Biology when it starts. Everyone figures out the study methods which suit them best over time. I would recommend Miss Estruch Biology if you are struggling with particular topics. Or speak to your teacher if you are having difficulties with set work.

Genetics in A Level Biology I found very interesting! It is definitely challenging at times but once you get the hang of it can bag easy marks. Ecology is more covered in year 13.

Hi, yeah the terminology can hit as hard to start off with. Maybe making flashcards or posters may help. Especially with cell biology so you can learn names and functions. Microscopy is always easy marks especially if you learn that part of AQA spec well.

I do AQA and personally really like biochem and ecology/evolution.
I liked everything in GCSE but it wasn't really human anatomy that sparked my interest. I liked the small bit we learn about the nervous system and hormones, but it really isn't comprehensive...
