yeah cuz why can i put a synonym and not get the mark 😭

nahhhhhh this is so ture we had a question on one of our end of unit tests on like the stablising selection stuff(which i hate btw) and you have to talk about the mean and the range of values and i talked about the average and the spread of data and i didnt get both marks like hello??? because i didnt use the exact words when the mean the same thing

i put gradient of a slope instead of gradient of a curve. i gave up after rhat

That is so unfair honestly, they should specify to allow words that mean the same thing

Hi, definitely space them out and maybe use apps like Quizlet which have the learn option and Gizmo has great interactivity.

Hi, stabilising selection style questions are quite hard on the mark schemes, I remember. I would just recommend to check the specification and practice various similar questions e.g. on PMT and look for similarities with the mark schemes. The spread of data might be written on mark schemes as ‘standard deviation’ and average might be written as ‘modal trait’ or similar.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t unfortunately. Check the side of the mark schemes to see if you could get any credit. But don’t always award yourself undue credit when practicing, you need to prepare for either a strict examiner or a lenient one.

Hi does anyone know of any good resources or biology YouTubers to who go over some a level biology maths qs i struggle with them so much and i don’t know why and physics and maths tutor answers don’t really have explanations also any advice or resources for the essay as i do aqa and we haven’t really been told much about it im in year 13 btw any help or advice would be appreciated

I have an Oxford textbook that's been very useful (I'm also in Y13 bio and don't take maths) it's called "Maths Skills for A Level Biology 2nd Edition" by James Penny and Philip Leftwich. It's sort of like a CGP book but for the maths with explanations, worked examples and practice questions for all the maths

dont worry about the eassy writing i do aqa and i am in year 13 too we havent been taught it yet thats because we are still yet to cover all the content and so we cant answer those questions yet !
