Is applying to LSE BSc Economics a waste?

Hi, I'm thinking of applying to LSE BSc Economics.
Stats:
Maths - A* Predicted
Economics - A* Predicted
Law - A* Predicted

GCSEs: 999999888

Would it still be viable even if I don't do A Level Further Maths?
Im not sure if Law is a strong A Level for top universities.

Thank you

Does your school/college offer FM?

My school is multi-campus, and my campus is the only one where FM isn't offered. However, the issue is the exam centre number is the same for all campuses, so I'm worried if I mention it isn't offered it may be a problem if someone from another campus applies and has FM.

Agreed. Get your referee to explain that FM wasn't available for you, as stated on the relevant LSE page.

Your academic referee should explain that it's not available at your campus in your reference. That should be sufficient. Given it's not available to you I don't think it's entirely out of consideration although it probably is a long shot.

Why didn't you choose to go to a campus where it is offered? In other schools like this students travel ... can you explain more?

If your referee can explain that you couldn't take FM and that you recognised it's importance too late to go to a school that offers it then it isn't a waste, but don't apply to any more that prefer FM, or maybe 1 max.

I have extenuating circumstances; I’m a young carer. The other campus (the one with FM) is around a 20 minute drive from my house compared to the one I attend which is a 5 minute walk. There is no travelling between campuses. Because I’m a young carer, I don’t really have the time to waste for travel to school due to other responsibilities

Do you think it would be beneficial for me to self study AS Further Maths this year?

I imagine that would be useful yeah, if you could find time and balance it with your out-of-school responsibilities. It would obviously be useful mathematically but would also be a demonstrated of your desire to do the course and your ability to work hard. Maybe email the uni and ask them what they recommend a candidate in your position does to be sure.

That's definitely something for your referee to mention.

As someone who got into LSE, I'd say that it matters less than what you can showcase in your personal statement. Keep in mind that most A-level subjects won't really have a big impact on the course syllabus at uni, and all admissions officers know this.
