Student ID photos

How would I take one ? I mean the course I’m taking at Portsmouth Uni ( BSc Hons Accounting with Finance ) has no dress code. So can I just wear anything ? & where would I take the photo ? Like is it okay to take it at home, just as long as their’s no objects or people ? Or do I need it to be like a passport photo ?

Hey I just took mine on my phone. Think they mean in the style of a passport photo, so blank background, face is clear. I don’t think it matters what you wear in the picture. Hope this helps

Portsmouth say (at https://myport.port.ac.uk/welcome/joining-the-university):

"You will need to be able to upload a good quality passport photo as part of this process" ("this process" being completion of the online registration form). I suspect that they will provide information at this point as to what is/isn't acceptable.

The reality, I suspect, is that they want a passport-style photo -- but they will be forgiving if you submit a photo that doesn't meet all the standards that the Passport Office require. For example, I'm sure they won't reject a photo just because you're smiling, or the background isn't completely plain.

The key thing is that you upload a photo that's recognisably you, and that it's easy to check that it's your card when someone needs to do it -- and that's probably going to be (1) when it's first issued to you, and (2) when you're using it as proof of identity when you're sitting exams.

Ohhh…thank you for the advice 😅. I already took it & I was standing behind a white wall & it was taken on my phone- but not zoomed in zoomed in. Like enough space for them to crop it if needed. Tho…I wasn’t wearing makeup in my passport photo whilst I’m wearing makeup in my Student ID, so does that matter ??? Like I don’t look drastically different, just bigger lips
