A level choices: Econ vs. Geo

I need help, i can't decide to do economics (edexcel A) or geography (AQA) for a level.

I am a new year 12 student who's currently studying economics for the first time and enjoying it a fair bit, but am wary it will get a fair bit harder and essays aren't my strongest point. I got a 6 in English lang. and a 5 in lit. I am unsure if economics is a super viable option overall as i'm weaker in essays.
(My other subjects are maths and chem), whereas for geography i was thinking it might be easier for me if its more about knowledge and has less technical essay skills.
I got a 6 in gcse whilst pushing it largely to the side for other subjects and am now left in a dilemma on which to pick. I'm still really unsure on what is better as while I've enjoyed economics so far as i'm interested in current affairs it may be a lot harder to achieve a top grade in compared to geo ( which i still enjoyed at GCSE and assume that'll continue) as we do more human work.

Can you please help me decide which one is better suited for me.

Unsure if relevant but i got a 6 in WJEC RS and a 6 in edexcel History, which i also shelved slightly but less than geography.
Also I don't know what i want to do at uni and am using a social science to have doors open for maybe engineering (i'm aware my picks make that limited) or econ or something similar

There are essays involved in A-level geography, but I didn't do economics so it wouldn't be fair for me to say how different they are because I do not know.

Geography involves a lot of current affairs as well, and you will do better if you can link current affairs to the topics you are studying, especially in human geography. Geography is not an easy subject by any stretch of the imagination and requires you to be able to write well. It also involves some statistics and you will have to do coursework that is worth 20% of your grade. I think you need to consider whether you would want to do that.

This being said, you have been studying economics for two weeks maximum which makes it pretty much impossible to say how you will progress over the next nearly two years. You have a lot of time to work on your essay technique and you are enjoying economics which is always an important component in doing well in a subject.

I'm not sure that this will help you, but there may be some arguments you have not considered but if you have more questions about AQA A-level Geography, I am more than happy to answer them.

I study both with the same exam boards! In my opinion so far geography is easier in terms of content, it's quite understandable. As mentioned above it *does* include essays, in AQA there are 6 markers, 9 markers and 20 markers, but I'd say once you get the structure right, it is not too bad. Note that essays in geography tend to be evaluative, so not just listing facts. The NEA is also quite difficult, but if you are organised it is manageable.
Economics has 8, 10, 12, 15, 25 markers but all follow a similar structure. Strong chains of analysis are key to doing well in the longer answer questions and memorising the diagrams is quite important too.

When i did a-level geography, there was essays in that too.
I didnt do a-level economics (my school didnt offer it), so i cant compare the 2 essay wise.
Content wise though, i loved geography and found it mega interesting.
