American Applicant for LSE

I have taken these AP’s
AP Calc BC:5 AB sub:5
AP MACRO: 5
AP MICRO: 5
AP Stats: 5
AP World History: 5
AP Psychology: 5
AP Biology: 5
AP Physics C Mech: 4
AP US History: 4
AP Calc AB: 4
AP Seminar: 4
AP Research: 3
ACT: 35 Math: 36 Reading: 36 English: 35 Science: 34
I am wondering how much of an effect my AP research 3 and my AP Calc AB will have on admissions chance/ do I have to report my Calc AB if I am reporting my CALC BC with AB sub score and same question for AP Research and AP Sem as they don’t count those towards their AP Requirement. AP Research was my first time doing any research but now I am working with a professor from a top UK university (not LSE) on a behavioral economics paper. We won’t be published by the time I have to apply but should I still talk about this in my application. Overall what are my chances/should I even apply?

You have a huge number of 5s, so you should also be considering Oxford or Cambridge and UCL, KCL, QMUL, SOAS, Warwick, Durham, Bristol, York, Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham, Birmingham, Exeter, Lancaster and Bath too. 🙂

Are you applying for BSc Economics? 😧

Hey honestly I didn’t even consider applying to more than just LSE so I’ll definitely look into that. I was planning on applying for BSc Economics, for further context my GPA is 4.56 weighted and 3.96 unweighted class rank 7/500. I have done an internship where I worked on refining an Ai stock prediction model for a startup, I am the cofounder of finance club which has 50+ people at my school and I help with budgeting and fundraising at my religious organization. I am a section leader in the marching band and I work as a math tutor for kids in the area. What do you think my chances are overall and can you explain the conversion of AP’s to UK grades like what does it mean that 5 AP’s where I have scored a 5 is equal to a AAA/what exactly does a A*AA/AAA mean.

With lots of 5s you have achieved you are a strong applicant.

I am not sure how 5s convert to A* or A grade at A-Level.

It is best to e-mail the admissions at LSE for the Economics department.

But I must say: "LSE is a lottery for most applicants."
