Warwick offer with lower grades than entry requirement?

I recently registered as a young carer for my grandma with diabetes, blood cancer, cardiac issues, has experienced 2 strokes, rheumatoid arthritis. i care for her in terms of: feeding her, bathing her, changing her clothes, assorting medicine and much much more and its impacted my learning. However when i look at university contextual offer criteria, it doesnt seem to appear but it USED TO. What do i do now? Im predicted A* A* B in maths fm econ respectively and want to apply to A* A* A courses at warwick and ucl. Will they give me a potential offer due to extenuating circumstances or is there now no chance?

Hi there!

You may be able to be considered under extenuating circumstances, as significant and ongoing caring responsibilities are listed as one of the examples. You can find more information about this, including how to apply, on our website here: https://warwick.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/apply/extenuating-circumstances

It may also be worth emailing [email protected] to check whether you could be considered for a contextual offer. Sometimes it’s difficult to account for individual circumstances through the general website information, so the team will be best placed to give you personalised advice.

I hope that helps, and best of luck with your application!

Best Wishes,

Hi there,

If you’re only one grade off the standard entry requirements for PPE, it’s definitely possible to still receive an offer without your individual circumstances needing to be taken into account, especially if the rest of your application is strong.
That said, since your health-related circumstances are mentioned in your reference, it’s well worth checking Warwick’s website to see whether your situation makes you eligible for a reduced or contextual offer. If you’re unsure, you can also email the PPE admissions team directly, as they’re best placed to advise on how your circumstances may be considered.

Do you know any examples of people applying with one less than the requirement and getting in for any course?
