applying to sixth forms in nw ldn

I've heard Woodhouse and St.Dominic's are the best ones near my area but I've heard they're super competitive and I feel like applying my grades would be too ambitious.

I slacked off sooo much in year 10 and I properly flunked my summer mocks which I was too lazy to even revise for.

My predicted grades are:

English literature 7

English language 7

Maths 8

Bio 7

Chem 7

Physics 7

Spanish 7

Psychology 7

Latin 7

RS 7

History 7

as for my summer mocks... 💀

English literature 4

English language 4

Maths 5

Bio U (absent that day)

Chem 4

Physics 5

Spanish 6

Psychology 3

Latin 1

RS 3

History 3

So my predicted grades r a lot higher but idk if my skl is gonna change them but they've been the same since year 9 when we started gcse content.

my skl does October/Nov mocks so I'm gonna study like hell for those and make a comeback

Do they ask for the results of our first set of mocks or the ones we did in y10?

heyy ! i currently go woodhouse , u need an average of a grade 6 to get in and there are over 700 places so i wouldnt worry esp with ur amazing predicted grades . i didnt do too good in my summer mocks but i fixed up for my winter ones and got 99 in science , 8n7 in english , 8 in maths and 6s in my subject choices . i ended up with 98888865 (currently getting my 5 remarked and one of my 8s) 9 in maths , 8s in english and sciences .

idk abt st doms but woodhouse really is amazing , the teachers will alwaysss help you when u need and also give u ur independence to do work alone and they’re all specialists in their subjects so their teaching is good. it isnt too strict as well (no dress code , can leave at anytime in ur frees, no detentions - only sanctions is u getting 3 stages for really bad punctuality, constant missing homework or not wearing lanyard which leads to u getting excluded for one day )compared to other sixth forms and is more of a college .

they constantly have work experience opportunities ( i’ve signed up for things such as medicine academy work experience in hospitals , maths trips and there have been even more opportunities like court trips next week ) and have loadsss of societies u can join and im in an african society who are really welcoming and bave fun events like a games night coming up next week.

with ur grades it is soooo worth signing up for so i definitely recommend and over 50% of their students got A*s and As so if ur a high achiever its worth it !!
