Chemical engineering

I am currently in year 13 and I have decided I am going to apply for chemical engineering my current predicted grades are..

A: Mathematics A: Economics and B: Chemistry

GCSE; 7 in chemistry, 8 in mathematics and 7 and 8s 9s in the rest

the universities currently in my top choices are; University of Manchester, UCL, University of Birmingham, I have another opportunity in around 2 to 3 weeks to raise my predicted grades and I am quite certain after having a discussion with my teacher I will get an A in chemistry but I am not so sure about getting any A stars predicted, I am going to attempt to regardless.

I am now considering applying for chemical engineering at Imperial since I want to try and achieve the highest possible oxbridge is out the question since I don’t do a third science. I am meant to decide whether or not to complete the ESAT by 29th September which is before my next opportunity to higher my grades. What i am asking is whether I should even bother applying and completing the UCAT.

Overall I just would like some advice, thank you for reading.

It is fine to apply to an aspirational choice as long as you have three choices at your predicted grades and one safer insurance choice. If the ESAT is required for any of these choices, then you do need to take the exam.
