Hi there,

When are you looking to start your course? Do you hold any qualifications currently? We don't make the decision about home student or international student for fees, this would the university that would advise this.

Thanks,
Claire

Good day

Yes I have got Both Maths and English GCSES, Arts subject A levels from back home. But I have also enrolled to Access course here in England as I get taken back to do foundation course everytime I apply in university of which it’s expensive in Uni but cheaper at college.

Hi there. Where did you live before moving to the UK, and have you husband ever lived outside of the UK? Thanks, Leah.

Thanks. If you are married to a UK national, you could be eligible to apply for the Tuition Fee only loan. This means you would apply on an 'EUN' applicaiton.

To apply for Tuition Fee only funding you would need to meet the following:

be the family member of a UK National

have been resident in the UK and Islands for 3 years prior to the first day of the first academic year of the course

have a valid status in the UK.

Thanks, Leah.

Do I need to hold an ILR for me to qualify as a wife of a British National or a Leave to remain that expires in 2 and half years is fine. I want to study a 3 years degree.
Please advice

Hi there,

Do you mean to be able to apply for UK funding instead of Tuition Fee Loan only funding?

Thanks, Drew

Hi Nontokozo 2025,

Non-UK National Family Member of a UK National Fee Only

For the student to be eligible for EU funding they must:

be the family member of a UK National

have been resident in the UK and Islands for 3 years prior to the first day of the first academic year of the course

have a valid status in the UK.

You must meet all 3 of those to be eligible for support.

Thanks, Clare

I have a question with the last one “have a valid status in the UK” I’m on a five year route . Already on my second visa now, a leave to remain.M allowed to work and all but no access to public funds. It was renewed a couple of months but it will expire in 2028 , then I have to apply for ILR . The course I want to do is three years long.
Is my leave to remain considered a valid status? Or I have to wait for ILR

It is because you're married to a UK national, yes. So, based on everything you've told us you should be fine to apply for the Tuition Fee Loan from us.

Does your course begin next September or later?

Thanks, Graeme

Okay, that's great - the 2026/27 applications will open next Spring. Once they do you can find the application form here and send that to us.

Feel free to check this link then and you'll see the right form to use.

Thanks, Graeme
