Look at the pages for nursing on the university websites - info on A level, and subject, requirements are on there.

Hi there,

Which Nursing course are you interested in? At ARU, we have:
- Nursing (Adult)
- Nursing (Child)
- Nursing (Mental Health)
- Or Nursing Associate

For Nursing (Adult, Child, and Mental Health) we require 112 UCAS tariff points and we accept A Levels, T Levels, BTECs, OCR, Access to HE and most other qualifications within the UCAS Tariff. For Nursing Associate we require 48 UCAS Tariff points from a minimum of 2 A Levels (or equivalent). It would be best to look on their individual webpages for further info on their entry requirements 😊

Feel free to contact our Admissions team for further info about the courses and entry requirements:

Best of luck with your university journey! Let us know if you have any other questions,

Best wishes,
Jemma

I’m interested in nursing at Nottingham, Manchester, or Anglia Ruskin, but I’m not sure if my A-Levels without Biology or Chemistry would meet their entry requirements.

I've already given you the answer to this in reply #1. Look at the Look at the pages for nursing on the university websites - info on A level, and subject, requirements are on there.
E.g. I typed "University of Manchester adult nursing" into a search engine. It brought up this page BNurs Adult Nursing (2026 entry) | The University of Manchester - which says "Typical A level offer: BBC including specific subjects"; when you click on that hyperlink it tells you what the specific subjects are, and..... it gives you a list of subjects they want you to have studied one of at A level including what they accept one of instead of biology or chemistry.
Doing the same with Nottingham and Anglia Ruskin will give you the answer as to whether or not you'll be able to apply there. If their website doesn't say that you have to have studied specific subjects, it means you won't be penalised for having not studied biology or chemistry.

Hello,

Looking at their entry requirements in their pages, all the three universities accepts Psychology as a science or science-related subject. Although the grades required differs. So yes you can enter nursing with those A-level subjects although the required grades will differ depending on the university’s requirements.

All the best,
Sarah (Kingston Rep)
