Sfe vs slc

Hey all, I have recently started college and I have been advised that I can apply for an advanced learner loan with SLC.

Now I have done my application through SFE because everytime I go on the SLC website it directs me to SFE.
The instructions and info given to me by college were to apply to SLC and not SFE - which I know is used when applying for loan and maintencance grants for uni.
The reason why I ask is because, after applying through SFE, I was told the course I am doing (Access to Nursing) is not approved for funding. I have also called SFE who confirmed the above. Said I have to ask my learning provider...
Does anyone know if there is a difference between the two?

SFE deals with student finance applications, eligibility, etc. SLC deals with student loan repayments. So if you live in England, you will be directed to SFE to apply.

Are you applying for the correct loan? You need to apply for the Advanced Learner Loan for an Access course. The application process is described here:
