Cardiff University and SFE

I completed my online enrollment when it was first sent out but my Student Finance says it was approved but Cardiff still hasn't sent them the confirmation that I am enrolled. Is this normal? I'm moving in in a few days. Will I still be able to receive payment?

I’m having the exact same issue at the moment! I am wondering if they confirm our enrolment after we collect our student id potentially?

No it hasn’t been resolved for me yet, it can take a few days once the uni has confirmed though so still hoping it will work out at the moment

I've read other forums and am thinking they confirm via attendance?
If so we may have to wait until the end of the week 😭

Ah ok, so maybe when the induction events start then? That’s frustrating since the first payment was supposed to have come by then!

I hope so.
However first thing monday morning I will be calling both my University and SFW to get this issue resolved.
And I will update everyone with the results (hopefully positive).

I had a text message through today to let me know my funding will be through by the 24th, so I’m thinking it may just be that it takes some time for the confirmation of enrolment to go through. Hoping it works out for you!

That's great news, glad its been resolved.
I asked at the "student connect" desk and I should have it by the end of the week, and that this was a common occurrence.

That’s promising news! I had also collected my student ID but not received student loan. The person in charge of my course says to raise the problem individually if the problem isn’t resolved soon so the university recognises that this is a problem that everyone is experiencing (seems like student connect already are aware of this) but thank you for sharing

Yesterday I attended a student finance drop in session in the SU building.
I should (hopefully) have my finance by next week.
These sessions are really useful.

I hope so! I spoke to the money and advice team and she basically said student finance made everyone believe that everyone would get their loan on the 22nd but didn’t take into consideration the enrolment process which is why a lot of people didn’t get the student finance. Some people on my course have, but most people haven’t
