Hi! I just sat the LNAT this morning. How do you guys feel about it? I was wondering if it’s normal to feel like it went swimmingly? To those who got a score they are proud of, how did you feel when taking the test? Did you know you’d do well or were you nervous (due to other reasons possibly)?. Also, I was surprised they pointed you to where the answer was in the passage. Is that new?

Well done, it's out of the way now so you can relax. TI have spoken to few people who have done LNAT before and almost all of them did better than the mock/practice tests, so you are not alone. Can you please elaborate your last point from your original message please? Thank you.

Thanks! And regarding the last point, the LNAT answers for questions on finding a certain word or sentence, they would write down the passage like so E.g: a) cunning (passage 1) b) amicable (passage 3)
Was this a recent implementation or something that’s always been in the test?

Hey, was it quite similar to the official past papers on the LNAT website or no?

Hi! Yes, I would say it was presented exactly like that except for the addition I mentioned in the other comment in which they help you locate the answer in the passage. Tbh, I think it was even easier??

Hi, I am going to sit mine in October. Did you get your results for Section A straight after?

I don’t think I can say due to the NDA. However, I touched upon content I learnt during A-Levels so it was good! Wbu?? Did you find yourself using a particular structure?

Thank you! Were the passages long/was timing an issue?

Personally, the passages were very short, only a few needed scrolling; I had 30 minutes of spare time. Tbh the passages are randomised from a bank of questions, I think, so I might be lucky in that regard. Good luck on your test!

Did it last year and felt like the MCQs went well and ended up with 27 - pretty good score for me at that point. Doing it again this season but really nervous about the essay as that has cost me in the past. Could you give me any pointers for the MCQ and essay questions? Don’t just outright say them if you’re worried it’ll break the NDA. Just want a tip or two.

Hey!! If u don’t mind me asking what scores were u averaging in the practice papers on the official website? And when u did those did you feel like they were easy, hard etc?
Cos for me I feel like I never rlly can tell how ill do and sometimes the scores come as a surprise, which I’m worried will happen in the actual exam asw😭😭
If you sit it before January 26th, section A score will be sent in late February via email. Sadly, it is not like the UCAT 😭
It’s so frustrating that they won’t give out marks for the multiple-choice section. How ironically unlawyer-like to expect someone to select their university choices based on vibes rather than a clear, quantitative result, especially when it is sitting right there!

I’m actually crashing out because I wrote a long reply and then pressed back. Time to rush a reply. Amazing score btw. Hope unis don’t dramatically increase ‘cut-off’ scores. Mcq personally I read questions first. Try to trust your initial judgement if comprehended passage well first time around. Essays. I picked a question I had knowledge about (e.g. sociology) and followed the structure of intro, thesis, define, criteria, main argument, counter, eval, conc. how did you write your essays last time?

That was my worry as well. The first time I took the official practice test, I got 18. Latest retake was 35. I mostly used the books like the old Mark Shepherd with a mix of official lnat papers and I would average around 30 (I recorded all my scores and averaged it out lol). Official website is def realistic in terms of layout but lowk harder. Icl all the revision materials were harder than the acc test imho. Honestly, it’s okay if you get a low score or don’t revise much. Quality over quantity. But do it every day. Lol. I had a week of no studying just sleep and I did a practice test and got a decent score so I def recommend… sleeping. And the night before the exam I did one last test, got a high score, dreamt I’d do well in the exam and it boosted my confidence. Now, I hope that doesn’t bite me in the arse 😂 maybe I’ll come back to this thread in February and say “sorry guys, thought it went well, actually got 2”.

Heyy!! Thanks so much for the in depth feedback! I’ve defo seen a repeated belief that all the LNAT practice tests were harder than the real one, so you’re not alone in that loolll.
Separately, you seem to have been getting amazing scores! Hopefully we all get the scores we’re hoping for and offers for our dream unis. Best of luck!!
