Imperial Application and ESAT Prep for Civil Engineering

Hi, I'm currently struggling how I would start preparing for the ESAT especially with the lack of resources for it.

I'm taking the sitting in January. I have looked into the specification and it sounds like what we already learn in A-level but seeing the practice tests it overlaps topics beyond it (potentially Further Maths)

To those who have done it before, how did you approach it?

I have areas in both Maths and Physics that I still struggle with at the moment and not every content has been covered yet and will be covered by then.

I did the ESAT last year and IMO you don’t really need to do that much revision compared to other entrance exams as almost all content is GcSE

I did the ESAT too last year! The content is okay, they have specifications that will help you. I found the mental arithmetic bit especially challenging, because I had become basically completely reliant on my calculator over the GCSE period.

What I did was train using calculation trainers like nocalc.xyz (its pretty good, im surprised not more people have come across this) to really hone in my mental arithmetic skills. Doing TMUA papers also helped. (I got a 8.0 in maths, and 8.2 in math 2)

Good luck!
