Career Help

So I will be studying Finance, Accounting and Management with Placement year at Uni of Nottingham this year, and idk I'm regretting the degree. I got AAB in Maths, Bio and Chem at A Levels and in the future I want to work as a Chartered Accountant so I thought I'd do this degree to pave my way but all I see online and talking to people is that it's a mickey mouse/not needed degree and that anyome can get into finance without it so idk if it's worth doing it or should I take a gap year and go into medicine/science degree. Sciences have always been my strengths, and I love bio and chem. Plus, my family is also telling me to go do medicine or optometry as they're saying I got these good grades and I should really apply myself by doing a sciencu degree (they're happt with whatever I choose but just want whats best for me). At first I declined them as I applied last year and didn't get in so I retook maths and went from a D to an A but idk I'm feeling doubt and slight regret of not doing medicine. I chose Accounting for the money and job security but reading stuff online I'm seeing AI take over and reducing the need for accountants so new comers like myself it will be very difficult to find entry level positions and now they're requiring experience which I have none of. Also the finance sector is a very, very competitive area and honestly I don't think I'm a solid fit for it tbh as I'm very introverted and like to avoid interaction so I know I wouldn't be that good at networking. I need help into what degree to pursue as rn I'm very lost and reality has hit me and I don't want to do a degree I will regret and waste 4 years of my life.

Why don't you think about taking a gap year to really consider the choices you've got available to you? Nobody says you need to go to university this year.
