Can I transfer universities for my second year?

Hi,
So I got my a level results and was dejected with my grades.
I got an A in History, a B in English literature and a D in maths. I got into my insurance choice, City St George’s doing international political economy but I want to know if I could complete my first year in City and then transfer my credits to Queen Mary university for a similar course I’m second year. Maybe Politics and International relations.
I know Queen mary looks at the a level grades but if I got a first in my modules or at least a 2:1 do you think they will allow it.
Also I am planning on resitting maths whilst in my first year of uni.

I believe you're expected to satisfy all the regular entry requirements when transferring universities, even if you did really well on your first year, so you will have to resit at least the maths A-level, which I read you're already planning on doing.

Also do make sure to double-check with the university that they will allow you to transfer to the course you want with your current degree. They might very well not allow it. But if you're already thinking of jumping the boat, why not just take a gap year now, resit your A-level and apply for year 1?

Broadly speaking it might be possible, but only QMUL can tell you for certain. Not holding the AL grades for the standard offer makes it more doubtful, but not necessarily impossible.

There is a Transfer FAQ that outlines the process.

Because I also run the risk of not getting into qmul yet again or not getting the required grades.
If I got accepted to be transferred or got rejected I wouldn’t necessarily lose any th ing because I’d complete my degree either way in city or qmul in the next 3 years without longing it out and taking a gap year
