I have been doing lessons forever and had to stop for a while due to financial reasons but I am struggling to read plates I have done my test twice and failed and the licence plate part i struggled with he put it down to nerves ive had several pairs of glasses and ive spoke to optician should I go back and say to them as I really dont want to go through the embarrassment of trying to read a plate again

An optician will usually be able to tell you whether your vision is okay for driving. If you are struggling with plates with your current prescription, tell them.

Probably with an updated prescription you would be able to see well. So why not going to the optician?

I have had that done previously cos I wear contact lenses aswell

You should for the recent one too.
PM me, I'm an optom. I can suggest some things... have too many questions so prefer via PM, if you don't mind.
I mean they (the optoms) should find the reason why you don't see well even with the glasses. Once you know the reason it is easier to work towards a solution.

What is your visual acuity with your current glasses? and contacts?
What is your prescription?
