Share code and vignette

Hi. I am a longtime UK resident, with an American passport, and indefinite leave to remain, settlement. I have applied for a Master's loan. I have previously received a Bachelor's loan, so SFE has previously approved me and verified my immigration status etc.

Now SFE has requested my 'original passport' with vignette to clarify date of entry. I have supplied SFE with my evisa share code but they still want the physical vignette.

My original passport expired years ago but contains the indefinite leave to remain vignette, and that passport and vignette have my maiden name, however my current valid passport has my married name. I spoke to a rep at SFE who said he was 'certain' that SFE only wanted the old passport with vignette and not my current passport to see date of entry. I asked about sending my marriage certificate to show name change and he said SFE has that from last year so should be able to see that.

My question is: Is this correct? I have had several different answers from SFE reps about what to send.

Will SFE be able to see my marriage certificate from last year? Do I only need to send my old passport with vignette and not my current passport too? I'm surprised the evisa share code wasn't sufficient as that is what immigrants are being given now instead of the biometric cards.

Thank you.

Hi LGRho,

Evidence from previous undergraduate applications cannot be used as it is a separate system and process. Yes you can send the expired Passport with vignette (stamp inside Passport confirming successful visa application), this would be in exceptional circumstances therefore you would need to provide a cover letter explaining why you cannot sent valid ID evidence on this occasion.

Thanks, Clare
