Failed my ODP degree
I was just informed that I have not passed my second year, and will be withdrawn from my course. I was studying operating department practice in my second year as a mature (40y.o.) student, and am now feeling totally depressed and deflated.
I didn't complete my professional competencies in time for the first assessment board, and was told I would be allowed to trail the remaining competencies into my third year to complete alongside my other portfolio work. I unfortunately then also failed my resubmission of a failed assignment for my research proposal (I somehow got the same grade of 30 even though I did the corrections that had been listed on the assessment feedback).
I'm now hoping to start an appeals process to try and sort things, but am honestly not expecting much, and am feeling completely fed up with the whole thing. It's been especially unhelpful being informed of this decision just 2 weeks before I was due to start my first year, now leaving me without any student finance and unable to pay even my basic home bills.
Not really looking to ask questions, but if anyone has any information on academic appeals, or just something to say that might make me feel a bit better about this failure, it would be massively appreciated.
