Sociology a level help!!

I DESPERATELY need some advice on cram revising a level sociology!! specifically wjec but ill take any suggestions!

I just picked it up this week and as its my last year I’ll be doing both my As and A2 in the same year and i must have everything learned by mocks!!

I also just bought an ipad for studying so any recommendations on apps or videos that may be helpful for sociology would be appreciated

So you'll find with Sociology that the same groups of people (e.g Marxists) say the same basic idea about everything which is helpful. You just need to remember names and a detailed idea of what everyone says with evaluation. I recommend having a glossary of all the Sociologists you learn (each school learns slightly different sociologists) and try making blurts from these. Also practice exam questions.
I recommend tutor2u for YouTube Sociology revision videos (I think these are AQA based, my exam board, but they should still be useful).

I do WJEC too and it’s so annoying because of the lack of resources but it’s essentially just theories that can be used in any exam board.

Think for topics like Family or Education, whichever one you do there are very limited questions that they come up. It’s usually one that’s come up in a similar way before. Make a list of old questions or list topics and do quick mindmaps on what you would say if the question came up. Use your book or online resources for the mindmap info. This will make sure you know exactly what to say for the question.

This might not work for you, but personally I find it a good way if I’m trying to cram the information in.

Good luck!

@hollymclou

If it helps, the WJEC website outlines the entire specification and has past papers for you to look at also;

GCSE Sociology

There are also some resources for each unit Sociology - Educational Resources - WJEC
