Any advice to a Cambridge affiliate student applicant?

Hello, I’m planning to apply for Cambridge affiliate student majoring History of Art. I am an international student and currently in Australia, aiming to give it a shot for Cambridge.
Currently I am meeting the minimum grade requirements (2:1honours) but am anxious as it is a prestigious institution, being a little above 2:1 wouldn’t give me a chance. I’m aiming to apply for the January deadline not sure if it will give me disadvantage if the spots fill up on October applicants as I’m not sure the acceptance rate or prior precedents around me. Further I want to ask to any successful applicants if there is anything of advice about grades interviews reference extracurriculars and all; as it is hard to find a precedent by searching in Google and Reddit. I would really appreciate any comments, thanks.
