What if my university is not on UCAS?

Hi everyone,
I've been told since the dawn of time (exaggeration) that every university and every degree is on UCAS, but my top choice isn't. What do I do if I have to apply both through UCAS and through that uni?
(also, the degree is remote and I'm taking a gap year, in case that's important)

Which University is this and which course.

Some Universities don't list on UCAS and only accept direct applications.

Also sometimes the University might be there but they're not offering the course (it's already full or they've withdrawn it).

If the Uni doesn't list on UCAS, it might say something about it in the 'How to apply' section on that course website.

I checked with the uni and they're 100% offering it - it seems like this is one of the unis that only want direct applications. What should I do on UCAS, then, seeing as I'm only applying for 4 unis on there? Or should I just apply for 5 anyway with a total of 6 applications?

I know there a small number of private institutions that operate in unique ways. Although Ive always been highly skeptical of the quality of education & reputability. I would ask yourself do they operate in isolation for your benefit or perhaps there own benefit particularly if the likely motivations are regulatory or financial.

You mean this course: Ancient History and Archaeology ?
It should be on UCAS:

Might be that Leics just haven't added it for 2026 yet. Contact their admissions team to check.

It has a UCAS course code - do you mean that you can't find this on the course selection list within your UCAS application? If so, this can sometimes be a result of a glitch within the UCAS system - try deleting this course from your 'favourites', refreshing the page and re-checking. If its still an issue - phone Leicester admissions for advice : 0116 252 5281

That's the in-person course, not the online course.

Leicester grad here. I’m pretty sure that the distance learning BA is not on UCAS as meant primarily for a global audience - although there is fee for UK students not sure you would get student finance for it. Won’t be on UCAS as it’s open access. Ring them on 01162525281 and they can clarify
