Choosing books for English Literature NEA

I am kind of conflicted over which book I should choose for my NEA. For reference my exam board is AQA B and currently we have to choose a prose text to analyse through a critical lens. My choices are either East of Eden or Neuromancer. My only thing is that I don't know if Neuromancer is suitable for English Literature, even though it was highly influential in its genre, cause it's a scifi/cyberpunk.
Remember you aren't writing about a book because you like it (liking a text is not a prerequisite for doing literary criticism!), nor are you doing so because it has a good narrative - rather you want to look for texts which have a wide range of literary devices and other such things you can analyse and close reading of. So consider whether the text actually has such things - most popular fiction (no matter how well written) are not heavily laden with sophisticated metaphors and metonymy, intertextual imagery, codified narrative structures (or alternatively innovated narrative structures) etc.
