Hi @leikkii,

I am going into my 3rd year at Birmingham City University studying Media Production. I can't comment on the best... But, I'll share with you my experience!

At BCU the Parkside Building was purpose built around our 5 TV Studios. Students can book these out once they have had adequate training, even rent equipment such as the Black Magic 6. All for free. You can have a look around our campus here.
We also have 6 state of the art radio studios you can record radio shows, podcasts the list goes on the only limit is your creativity.

Also my lecturers are just amazing, they are all ex industry professionals and have so many years working with real clients all their advice is absolutely amazing.

We also have this thing called Job book where opportunities are regularly sent out. I have managed to work with the BBC & RSC just through checking my emails.

Our careers team are also amazing, and you have access to them for 2 years after leaving university too.

If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to get in touch,

Hi Leikkii,

There are several good universities for media courses in the UK, but London South Bank University (LSBU) is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a practical and creative degree that prepares you for real-world media careers. Our BA (Hons) Media Production course focuses on hands-on experience, giving you the chance to work with professional equipment, develop creative projects, and build a strong portfolio across film, TV, radio, and digital media. You’ll learn storytelling, editing, camera work, sound design, and production management, all key skills employers look for in the media industry.

LSBU’s Media Production BA (Hons) is well-recognised and carries strong credentials. It is a member of CILECT (Centre International de Liaison des Écoles de Cinéma et de Télévision), joining as full member in 2022, which links LSBU to a global network of high-quality film and television schools. CILECT LSBU scores very well for graduate prospects in art and design fields and is placed among the top in London universities for drama, cinematics and creative-arts subjects.

One of LSBU’s biggest advantages is its location in central London, right at the heart of the UK’s creative industries. This gives you easy access to media companies, studios, and events, as well as excellent networking and work placement opportunities. Alongside that, our career support team helps students connect with employers, find internships, and prepare for life after graduation, so you’ll leave ready to step into the industry with confidence.
If you’d like to see more of what LSBU offers, come along to our Open Day on the 15th November. You’ll be able to tour our media facilities, meet lecturers, and talk to current students about their experiences.

LSBU’s combination of hands-on learning, industry connections, and location makes it a fantastic place to study media and turn your creativity into a successful career.
