Retaking year 12

I want to restart my year 12 in my current sixth form. I didnt met the GCSE requirements to do stem which i am one grade below, and rn doing subjects that I dont really fancy. I planned to resits my gcse in 2026 summer alongside to sit the AS exams w the alvl subjects that I dont like, but obviously i would try and pass them and not just giving up on them as they still matters. Would it be possible to request and ask to apply to retake a year in year 12 in my current sixth form and do the alvl subjects that i wanted to do like bio chem and maths once my gcse reists met their grades requiremtns?

I understand that you're facing a challenging situation. It's not rare for students to end up in classes they don't like, mainly if their GCSE results weren't ideal for their initial choices. But the good news is, you've got choices, and you can totally get back on the right path for the future. Your plan rocks. This shows you're thinking ahead and are serious about your future. Be prepared to discuss your options with your teachers.
