Fiona's Year 12 GYG ⭐︎

Hi everyone!

Let me be honest, and just disclose that I finally decided to make a TSR account, to make a GYG. My irl friends have tried to do the whole 'keeping each other accountable' thing, but it hasn't really worked out lol. So, I'm giving this a try! I hope that I'll be able to stay accountable with such a large amount of like-minded strangers, and hopefully, we'll get to become friends as we cheer each other on!

Uh, that felt really cringe - like those ice breakers on the first day of school...

A level:
- English Literature (AQA)
- Maths (?)
- Further Maths (?)
- Computer Science (OCR)

Aim for 2025/26:
A*A*A* in the summer mocks would be nice, though very unrealistic. Hopefully at least A*AA. I still need to get FM sorted out, so we'll see how that predicted grade works.

Disclaimer:
I yap. A lot.

Thanks! Haha, yh, I get that a lot. I'm hoping to do Computer Science, or Maths and CompSci, at uni. English is just for fun 🙃

I'll have to figure out some sort of format for this...

To-Do:

CompSci: revise FDE cycle

CompSci: finish worksheet 1A

CompSci: finish worksheet 1B (almost done)

Maths: complete quadratic functions lesson

CompSci: C1 flashcards (FDE cycle, pipelining, control lines)

A LOT OF HOMEWORK

This weekend, I've been trying to catch-up on work, since I transferred back to my old school this week. Idek what to do with my to-do list... it would be so long if I write out all the hw plus catch-up. A problem for future me tho-

Tomorrow, I want to finally finish catch-up for Computer Science. Maybe work on Maths. I also need to finish reading the set texts for English. Plus, homework.

Ugh, I'm so tired today.

Weekly Revision Counter (hrs):

Maths ★★⭐︎⭐︎⭐︎

Further Maths ⭐︎⭐︎⭐︎⭐︎⭐︎

English Literature ★★⭐︎⭐︎⭐︎

Computer Science ★★⭐︎⭐︎⭐︎

Welp, I definitely haven't met the recommended hours of study this week...

Thought of the Day:
It's so weird not having a subject to hate on.

Right, though I think I'll try to aim for at least 3 hours each this week
I hope not, I don't want to start hating my subjects 😢

Great goal!
I hope you dont 🙂 I love all my subjects but theres certain topics that i dont like so much mostly because they’ll be a greater contrast within your subjects seen as you study them more (eg: im not a big fan of biochem, probably because ik i could be studying ecology 😂)

We do a bunch of subtopics for bio (biochem, cell bio, exchange in animals, exchange in plants, ecology, disease, biodiversity and evolution in yr12 for example) and some are better than other imo but you have to do all of them.
Yeah not many people study it, only about 2,500 people take it each year or something insane

To-Do:

CompSci: finish worksheet 1B

CompSci: correct worksheets

CompSci: C1 flashcards (FDE cycle, pipelining, control lines)

Maths: complete quadratic functions lesson

CompSci: flipped learning 11.1

iron cadet uniform

print and sign contract

Maths: hw 1.2

Maths: AP 1

Maths: AP 2

Omds I'm so dumb, I just spent the whole weekend thinking I've only got Maths tmmr, so I procrastinated my CompSci hw - tell me why I looked at my timetable just now and saw that I have CompSci! I'll be spending my 2 frees on CompSci, have the lesson, then my other 2 frees on Maths hw (due tmmr), ig. Procrastination at its finest...

Tomorrow's plan is basically just doing hw, some reading for English?

On the plus side, added an hour to this week's CompSci counter and received a contract of employment! My first job if probation goes well 🤗

Thought of the Day:
"Oh my days" is British slang; I always thought it was international.

Finished both hws: CompSci (she didn't even check 😢) and Maths. Also did the AP for Maths. Gave Maths in, in like the last 30 minutes of school- Maths was so diabolical; I spent 3.5 periods on it...

Just had dinner, so now I'll probably finish reading Streetcar, watch the lectures, make notes. It's due tmmr:facepalm:
