Durham move in day

Hi. I'm an international student attending Durham Uni this year as a year one student. I'll be flying with my parents next week to London (they insisted on coming) and they'll probably be going with me to move into my college on the first day. I would like to ask if it's common for parents to be helping out their child move into their uni dorm? Would it be awkward if my parents came to help me unpack? I'm asking because I worry this would make a bad impression on my dorm mates.

Many parents help their children move into their university dorm.

Hi, it is absolutely normal for parents to help with the move and unpacking and not awkward at all. Most students will be doing the exact same.

Best of luck for your move.
