Are my GCSE grades good enough for Oxford Medicine?
I’m interested in applying to study Medicine at Oxford and I got 999999887 in my GCSEs (with the 7 being in English Literature). I‘ve heard that Oxford only gives offers to people who have all 9s and 8s. Will my one 7 affect my application?

Kinda, I mean, you will need like a crazy UCAT (like top 3%) to outweigh that.
But it also really depends on your school performance; if it’s high, then the statement above is true. But if it’s low performing, you will only need a top 7%-ish+ with your UCAT.
So, no, you can still get into Oxford.
But stop obsessing about one med school and understand that the UCAT is crazy high stakes and you can’t just revise a load for it. It's completely unlike A levels and GCSEs. I know loads of people with all 9s and 8s who flunked it because don’t forget everyone doing the UCAT is a high performer.
So just focus on A levels, work experience, volunteering, and research, and then see what happens when you sit the UCAT next year (and no, don’t start prepping now because like I said, time spent on ucat ≠ high result).
