    Definitely biology!!!
    It's fascinating.

I also find the astronomy and cosmology part of physics fascinating.

I just wish I had the maths ability to have studied physics (not at uni - just at school)

Chemistry is the most excellent (as a Science - not including Maths). Biology is too broad to be a single Science and a degree level it is split into life sciences, medical sciences, biosciences, so on. Biology and Physics are OK but i think Chemistry is still better. :P

(ps i moved this to this page coz i realised not as many people will bother reading to the bottom of the second page to see it!)

What falls into biosciences and what falls into life sciences?
I know that medical sciences are like immunology, genetics, etc, but what about life and bio sciences?

    The Nottingham website has.

    General-
    Biology BSc Hons
    Biology MSci Hons
    Genetics BSc Hons
    Genetics MSci Hons
    Human Genetics BSc Hons
    Human Genetics MSci Hons
    Zoology BSc Hons
    Zoology MSci Hons

    'Biosciences'
    Agriculture
    Animal Science
    Applied Biology
    Biotechnology
    Crop Science
    Environmental Biology
    Environmental Science
    Food Sciences
    Microbiology
    Nutrition
    Plant Science

    'Medical'
Biochemistry (and Biochem with Biological Chemistry and "" with Genetics)
Neuroscience (and Neuro with Biochemistry, and "" with Pharmacology)

I would say things like Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology are life sciences.

    FLOWER POWER!

Out all 3 (bio/phys/chem) is it true that biology has the most girls? Or is that just myth? :p:

It's also true Physics has the most boys and Chemistry is neutral.

Physics undoubtedly. Applied mathematics, mathematics being the most pure subject in my opinion - but physics is close enough to pure for me. Also my entire field owes its existence to physics, and I am grateful!

The fundamental structure of the universe is where true beauty lies. There is beauty at the macroscopic scale (in chemistry and biology), but it doesn't feel quite as beautiful.

That said, there is a gaping hole in physics, two main competing theories (general relativity and quantum mechanics).

If and when these two are reconciled to form a grand unified theory, who then will say there is anything more beautiful and pure than physics?

    I absolutely agree.

I prefer Chemistry as it's the Science of 'matter' :p:

It's quite weird how it works out.

Sucks that there aren't as many boys in bio lol :p:

Biology has a lot of beauty.. leaf patterns, looking at cells through a microscope (amazing!), animal patterns. Nature is beautiful!

Depends what you mean by 'nature'... Physics is Nature and nature consists of Chemistry. :p:

Some chemistry experiments can be pretty esp if you're making crystals or if a solution ends up changing colour

I hate Biology. It's like a very silly cross between english and chem.

Lowering the tone of the debate (as you insist!), not only have I, but she's a medic/pharmacologist - which leads to much lively debate .

I won't back down though...chemistry is great but if you have a true mind for how the universe works, go physics!

(I would put any science above the arts though!)
