I enjoy biology and chemistry equally.

Biochemsitry sucks and the only science where none of its name is mentioned in it is Physics. It is therefore the best.
 OMG meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaan (and i ask again, why isnt there a smilie that cries!!!!) how could... anyone be.... so meeeeeeaaaaaaan. :motz:  take this shyopstv!!!!!! :reddy:

Writing ADP --> ATP just doesn't tell you what happens in the reaction
You forgot the magical inorganic phosphate.

Yup and you'll find that:

ATP ----> ADP + Pi

gives you enough information for even the most pedantic of chemists.

actually, you do get Biophysics...
i've read it at lots of different places...
(i support physics by the way!)

I hate chemistry with a passion, and I'm pretty crap at it too. I haven't done any physics for ages, so I would have to go with biology.

Dudette! You may hate chemistry but you HAVE to at least admire the subject!
:adore: All hail to chemistry! :dancing2:

Yup, and there are some really fasinating subjects within biophysics - such as quantum evolution etc.

Yeah I bought a book on it and it looks fasinating! I haven't got round to actually reading it properly yet though what with exams! I will put up a book review once I get round to it (have so many books I need to read lol).

if you had to pick one subject to do for the rest of your life...
which one would you go for?
pick the one that you find the easiest or most enjoyable...

mine's physics

Chemistry - I find it easy (2 hrs revision, got As on the AS mock papers), its fun, interesting and I don't bloody have to learn about plants as I do in Biology.

biology is just an area of chemistry, chemistry is just models to work trivial things out from, physics explains the models. Without physics, chemistry is nothing, without chemistry biology is nothing, hence, physics is everything. As a great man once said, "all science is either physics or stamp collecting."

Yeah that's a really old argument. Chemistry shouldn't be done down as it deals with real life and is surprising less trivial than "light inextensible strings". Plenty of biology exists outside of the realm of chemistry anyway. So... without chemistry population biology etc still exists, which is something. You have to be really stupid to argue that one science is better than the other - I could easily talk about physicists and their approach towards the universe and in some places where they have next to no data, this is eccentric science.

They're all just different views from the same place, just separated by a few degrees of rotation. If I was looking at the Collosseum but could turn 90 degrees and see St Peter's Basilica I'd have to accept that the views were equally worthwhile and that I couldn't see both at the same time. Accept this for science, too.

Ernest Rutherford - interesting that he got a nobel prize for chemistry, he didn't send it back though...

this is old and I have refuted on this thread on more than one occasion.

WOW, here physics wins, i like BIOLOGY, i like it a lot, it's fascinating, BUT i'd prefer Biochemistry because i think this is one of the most, or may be the most complete career in science, but there's no biochemistery so i prefer just Biology because i think just Chemistry is a little bit boring, the formulas and molecules, wow, i don't like it very much. SO, BIOLOGY
Greetings

This is ******** if you ask me. Biology and chemistry are no doubt interlinked but Biology deals with the organism which is far more complex than just plain ol' chemical reactions. Like some us have said, there exists specialisations of biology that are outside chemistry. Like ethology, ecology, evolution etc.
