Resit Help

Do people who resit their a levels acc make it to Oxbridge? I’ve seen quite a few for lse and imperial. I wanna know if it’s possible and any tips would be greaaaat.

I’ve had extenuating circumstances and missed my Oxford offer and am thinking about potential reapplying? I’m thinking abt applying either Oxford or imperial as a resit student for chem and any guidance or advice would be great!! There is not much time before the early entry deadline.

Yes they do. They're admittedly not the biggest fan of resits, but if you have a reasonable reason as to why you might have underperformed (which it sounds like you might do), you can still be considered and you can still get in. Although of course you have to keep in mind that Oxbridge is super competitive and there are no guarantees that you will be able to get in again.

Hi @lalalalen,

Great question!

It's definitely possible to get into an Oxbridge university after resting. Due to the prestigious nature of these universities, it's often why they are not the biggest fans of resits.

However I do believe the other comment is right that your situation seems to be quite understandable and will benefit you as a resit applicant, so I wouldn't be too concerned! Additionally, there is no harm in putting these universities within your UCAS options, just make sure to put average, or safe choices in your other 3 slots.

I hope this helps, please feel free to ask me any questions,
