Bachelors vs masters degree in physics

I am about to start my 3rd year in a physics degree and am currently doing an integrated masters course. However, I can switch to a normal bachelors course and only do three years. How beneficial would it be to keep doing the masters course?

Hey(:

I'm in a pretty similar position atm with my chemistry course, I'm on the integrated master's program, with the option of switching to the bsc, im scottish so would be 4 years for me for bsc and 5 for the master's 😅 - atm my plan is to (hopefully!!) finish up my 3rd year, do my industrial placement year in industry and then go back for my 5th year to finish up my degree for the master's (:

A few of my friends are thinking of the bachleors route, where instead they'd do what im planning in my 5th year, in their 4th year - generally just depends on your plans outwith higher education for what your wanting to do (: - for me i'm hoping to stay on the masters as i'll get a year in industry to see how I enjoy it and get more of an idea the type of area i'd be interested in studying further! - for others they are a bit more sure and would like to instead finish up with the bachleors and get a job😊

either is a fab option (: - unsure exactly how beneifical the master's is for physics (chem degree myself lol😅) - but for me it would mean for some of the companies i would be able to apply for a slightly higher paying job with more responsibilites/specialisation - equally though a lot of these type of things you would be able to work your way up a company towards - guessng pretty similar for physics

obviously know this isnt particularly helpful - but its really your decision! - might be worth writing a pros/cons list to help work out what to you is your main priorites are 😊

hope this helps, best of luck with whichever path you choose!!💜
