UCL or Imperial for Chemeng

I’m applying for chemical engineering this year and I want to apply for one London university and it’s down to these.
The only major difference that I prefer between the two is UCL offers a year in industry whereas Imperial just offers a year abroad. I just wanted to hear from current students on what to pick
Not a current engineering student at UCL (although a current student at UCL in another subject, and formerly an engineering student at another uni) but I never got the impression UCL was especially notable for engineering, particularly in comparison to Imperial.

Bear in mind you still can (and realistically: should) do internships during the summer outside of term anyway. Imperial also indicate that it may be possible to interrupt your studies for a year to undertake a placement for a degree course that doesn't have a formal degree programme including a placement.

Both are excellent choices. If a year in industry is your top priority, UCL might suit you better, but Imperial has a stronger ChemEng reputation and great global links. Think about whether practical work experience or Imperial’s prestige matters more to you.
