It would be surprising to find a modern UK higher education provider that hadn't fitted massive amounts of plug sockets and charging ports to their classrooms, lecture theatres etc. Laptops have been the omnipresent study tool for at least a decade now. You can always email your faculty to ask and confirm, but I would expect having chargers available during sessions will be the norm.

Failing that, you could get a very powerful portable charger that you juice up each night to take with you the next morning. Check the power output of your laptop's charger in watts (it will be printed on the power brick) and then check Amazon for portable chargers which can provide that much output from a single port (many portable chargers will advertise themselves based on the total wattage all its ports can output simultaneously but may not be able to deliver all that wattage to one device).

If your laptop's battery has degraded over time, you could get the battery replaced and get the same longevity as the day you took it out the box.

As for being a 16" laptop, 99% of laptops with this screen size were released because their manufacturers figured out how to fit that screen size into the same dimensions as the very common 15"ers people were used to. You're not going to have an issue with room on a desk or backpacks to accommodate it.
