Each universities admissions policy is different, but generally speaking:
(1) You can't use a foundation year at one university to gain entry to year one at another university.
(2) If you want to switch universities, the target university will still expect you to meet their A level entry requirements.

Foundation years are specifically design to suit unis' own curricula, so may not be well recognised by other unis. You need to check with your target unis' admission teams whether MMU foundation is accepted, but be prepared to be declined.

MMU might be less appealing than some highly reputable unis, it is constantly improving and may not be inferior to a "lower end" RG uni. Think seriously before resitting A-Levels, like whether you could handle Foundation and A-Levels together. Good luck.

Hi

If you’re planning to do a foundation degree then it’s best to do it at your target university for your bachelors since it will give you direct access to the course. Since some universities might not accept a foundation completed in another university.

Hi @jameshunt06

As others have already mentioned, the E&E Engineering foundation year that you are currently studying with us links to our own Bachelor of Engineering degree. It may be that some universities would consider the Man Met foundation year for entry to their degree course, in lieu of you meeting the Level 3 entry requirements, but you would be advised to check with their Admissions team before making that decision.

Hope this helps.
Mel 🙂

Maybe,
In general this is not a particularly favorable recruitment method and I certainly wouldn’t recommend enrolling on a foundation year unless you are fully prepared & happy to finish your degree there. FY are not generally recognized stand alone qualifications.

In general these are outlier cases, so if you are going to do this:

I would be prepared for a lot of rejection

Reach out to target universities early and introduce yourself to them

Absolutely smash the academics be the number 1 student on every module

Do some excellent relevant side projects and hobbies that are highly relevant and useful in an academic environment

Accept & be happy missing not moving but still go & smash the degree, and make whatever graduate prospects you want happen
